October Half Term Camp Fun: 10 Halloween Activities to Try at Home

At Educamps, Halloween is one of our favourite times of year! Our October Half Term Camp is packed with spooky fun, laughter, and a few creepy surprises. These are just some of the activities we love to run with our campers – plus a few extras you can easily try at home.

1. Mummy Making 🧟‍♀️

Grab some tissue paper and wrap your “mummy”! Add red paint or fake blood for spooky detail.

2. Pumpkin Carving 🎃

Scoop out your pumpkin, choose a design, and carve funny or spooky faces to light up at night.

3. Apple Bobbing 🍎

First, try to grab an apple from a bucket of water using only your mouth… then plunge straight into a tray of flour to collect hidden sweets! Messy, hilarious fun.

4. Spider Cookies 🍪🕷️

Bake and decorate cookies with Malteser “spider bodies” and chocolate legs – a spooky treat to enjoy with friends.

5. Guess The Goo!

Blindfolded, put your hands into bowls of mystery slime and creepy textures! Can you tell what’s hiding inside?

6. Spooky Slime 🦠

Make gooey green or purple slime and add plastic spiders, googly eyes, or glitter to give it a creepy Halloween twist.

7. Spider Races 🥇🕷️

Cut out paper spiders and blow them along a track using straws. First to the finish line wins!

8. Haunted Scavenger Hunt 🔦🎃

Hide spooky objects (plastic spiders, skeleton hands, candy) around the house or garden. Give kids a list or clues and see who can find them all first!

9. Witch’s Hat Ring Toss 🧙

Make a cone-shaped witch’s hat from black card or use a costume hat. Try throwing glow stick rings (or hoops made from string) to land on the hat.

10. Ghost Bowling 🎳👻

Paint empty bottles white and draw spooky ghost faces on them. Stack them like bowling pins and use a ball (or small pumpkin!) to knock them down.

It’s not too late to secure your child’s spot on our October Half Term Camp!
